Day 127 of 365 days in the community garden

Mizuna 'red coral' is such a great plant to grow throughout winter. It's coral colour adds a splash of red to an otherwise green winter garden. Mizuna is quite hardy and grows into a lovely bush that you can harvest leaves from consistenly to add interest and a spicy tang to baby leaf salads.

"What a severe yet master artist old Winter is.... No longer the canvas and the pigments, but the marble and the chisel.

John Burroughs, "The Snow-Walkers," 1866
