Italian flat leaf parsley is flourishing at the garden - it has a slightly stronger parsley taste than curly parsley and is often recommended in recipes for this reason. Sow seeds in spring or summer, or plant seedlings if you would like a quicker crop. The plants produce copiously and respond well to harvesting. Be careful not to pull the stems too hard when harvesting because plants are easily uprooted.
“An honest laborious Country-man, with good bread, Salt and a little Parsley, will make a contented Meal with a roasted Onion.” John Evelyn (1620-1706) |
