Day 105 of 365 days in the community garden

Artichokes enjoy flowering periods in mid-spring, through summer and again in mid-autumn. This beautiful flower has just emerged this month and is ready for harvest. If you let your artichoke flowers get too big or too old they will be too tough to eat, but the beautiful purple thistle head is a sight to see!
