Rejuvenate your Alstroemeria by removing old, brown flower stalks (pictured) - this will stimulate the plants to grow more stems, and to bulk up. Alstroemerias are long-lived perennials, and a great cut-flower with a long vase life. The best way to harvest the flowers is not to cut them, but to gently tug them at the base and pull the entire flower stalk out.
