Chayote (choko) leaves and tendrils growing over our shed - Did you know that choko leaves and tendrils are edible? (And so are the roots!) Use the new leaves and tender new stems and tendrils in stir fries and soups. It is so great to find another use for this plant, besides its prolific fruit that we get inundated with! (Big thanks to our volunteer Casey for sharing this great piece of information with us).
“Autumn is the mellower season, and what we lose in flowers we more than gain in fruits.” Samuel Butler |
