Day 55 of 365 days in the community garden

Dennis, one of our long-standing volunteers, wearing his awesome "I love tomatoes" t-shirt (Photo by Joel). Dennis has been volunteering at the garden for over 8 years and is a true pillar of our garden community. Dennis comes to the garden nearly every day, even on weekends when the garden is officially closed. Sunflowers are Dennis' summer gift to the garden, where he plants tens of punnets to sow over the entire garden area. Dennis is also famous for his Cosmos flowers, and now tends an extremely bountiful section of the garden, boasting corn, kumara, broccoli, beans, onions and more this summer. Every Thursday at 10.30, our volunteer tea is lovingly named "Dennis-o-clock" because Dennis rounds up the troops for our weekly cup of tea and biscuits. Thank you Dennis for being an inspiration and friend to us all!
