Festival highlights: building a strong community

On Sunday 17th of November we hosted the Festival of Herbs at the garden, an event aimed at building stronger communities and getting to know our local community in the context of a beautiful organic garden. What a wonderful day it was! There was a buzz in the air and feeling of peaceful relaxation and fun with music playing and children and adults enjoying time to create, meet new people, play and laugh. Thank you to each and every one of you who came along and enjoyed the beautiful day out in the garden, and to all our amazing volunteers and staff for their wonderful work! Your involvement, enthusiasm and support makes Royal Oak a wonderful community for families, residents and visitors to the area.

Here are a few of the many highlights from the day...

Our creative volunteers painted beautiful pots to be sold, and ran wonderful craft activities for kids....

We hosted a variety of practical gardening workshops...

And we unveiled our new sign and beautiful logo (note the amazing array of herbs below the sign, grown by our volunteers)...

There were so many highlights from the day, but these are just a few. Watch this space for our next community event coming in early 2014 - we would Dig It if you were there!
